About usAmerikazentrum Hamburg
People. Dialogue. Since 1997.
Our history
From the Amerika-Haus to Amerikazentrum Hamburg e. V., a Hamburg story of transatlantic relationships in action.

Continuity
A new chapter since 1997
After the long-standing Amerika-Haus closed, the nonprofit Amerikazentrum Hamburg e. V. was founded in 1997 to continue educational and cultural exchange.
Today, events take place at venues throughout Hamburg, often with cultural partners, the U.S. Consulate General or the U.S. Embassy.
Exchange, in person
The people. The encounters. The connection.
At the 2023 BallinStadt exhibition opening, photography brought together family history, migration and the relationship between Hamburg and Chicago.
